House Progress

Hi Everyone,

I was in Utah for work last week so I didn't get a chance to update the blog. I passed by the house this weekend. (It was raining so I couldn't get up the driveway. It is a mud pool). The brick is finished. Front steps and all. The painter will start this week with the exterior paint. The sheet rock should be going in sometime soon. Not a firm date yet. The roofer will start shingling the roof as well. I'll try to take some pictures later this week and post.

Also, thanks for all the wonderful comments. Can't wait to have a big party and have everyone overs!

Moving Right Along

The house is moving right along despite my non-posting. Dalton was sick last week so I was tied up with him.

Last week, the electrical wire was pulled. The dormers were finished. The columns were installed in the front and back of the house. The tub/shower units and jacuzzi tub was installed. And finally, Darren came up and pulled the wire for the alarm system on Saturday. Thanks Darren.

I have pictures, but Joey has the camera. I'll post them tomorrow.

This week, the builder moved the dirt around the front of the house so that the cables for the post-tension slab can be pulled. Once this is complete, the brick layers can return to finish the brick. The front of the house looks like a conventional slab, but actually it isn't. We also ordered the shingles so those should be installed soon.

Brick, Windows, and Doors....Oh My!

This week has been crazy. Joey and I have been swamped at work plus taking care of two children, and did I mention we are building a house. :)

We met with the electrician Monday night. He started pulling wire. The begining of this week the brick layers started laying the brick. Yeah!!!! The house is really starting to look like a house. I laid out the cabinets in the kitchen or rather I sketched them on a pad between breaks at work.

We also got our front door and windows installed.

We are getting there.
